The Kingdom of Morocco is situated in the north of Africa, just a short hop away from the south of Spain and mainland Europe. Its proximity to Europe is why Morocco is sometimes confused as being a European country. Although Morocco has been influenced by French and Spanish colonisation, this vibrant and thriving country has Arab and Berber roots which make it a intriguing place to visit.

Morocco sits on the north western tip of Africa, flanked by the Sahara Desert to the east and the Atlantic Ocean to the west, effectively cutting it off from much of the rest of the continent. To the north is the Mediterranean Sea and arriving here by ferry crosses the Gibraltar Strait, the narrow stretch between Tangier in the north of Morocco and Algeciras in the south of Spain.
